Dark skin types do need to be treated slightly differently from Caucasian skin types due to the high melanin content found in the skin. By utilising Nd:YAG lasers you can penetrate deeper into the skin targeting the hair and not the pigment in the skin, making it safe to treat darker skin types. Best results are seen with people who have lighter skin and dark thick hairs. Dark hair is easier to treat as it has a high concentration of pigment on with fairer skin types there is a bigger contrast between hair and skin.
Thinner and Fair hair is trickier to treat but fantastic results can still be achieved with hair that holds pigment.
