Radio Frequency Microneedling
We are proud to be one of leading clinics in the Newcastle area for advanced radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment. This technology combined with our experience offers many benefits and significantly enhanced results compared to standard microneedling.
We have invested in the advanced Focus Dual technology. This offers not just RF microneedling but also HIFU. This state of the art treatment delivers the gold standard in skin tightening, lifting, firming and contouring (See article in Cosmopolitan). Using a combination of radiofrequency and microneedling technology creates a controlled trauma which triggers the body’s production of collagen and elastin as a healing response. Both technologies used in this treatment stimulate collagen in different ways. Microneedling creates micro-traumas in the skin, thereby stimulating the healing response, while radiofrequency uses heat to tighten the skin from the inside out. With Focus Dual you receive two treatments in one, meaning that you will achieve a stronger more powerful treatment and more effective results compared to having microneedling and radiofrequency treatments individually. The result is firmer, tighter, smoother, more lifted and hydrated skin.

How does Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling work?
During this microneedling treatment ultrafine needles penetrate the skin to different depths whilst simultaneously releasing radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the deepest layers of the skin in a controlled manner, stimulating a wound healing response leading to the production of new collagen and elastin.
Our patients love how natural their skin looks and the results get better and better over time. Read more about the advantages of RF microneedling over standard microneeding in our blog post here.
Can Radiofrequency Microneedling (RFM) be used on patients of all ages?
Yes, this treatment is very effective on skin of all ages. Younger skin that doesn’t yet require lifting and tightening can benefit from Microneedling without the RF, where the focus is now more on refining pores, evening out texture and improving overall quality.
Older patients with laxity concerns benefit from the dual effect of the Microneedling with Radiofrequency. As the Focus Dual offers many different needle depths and intensity settings for RF, treatments can be easily customised for different skin and level of concern.
How many sessions will I need?
Results can usually be seen quite quickly. After just one session improvements in skin texture and laxity can be evident. Results are more noticeable after, a minimum of 4 to 6 treatments. RF microneedling treatments are recommended at 4-week intervals to deliver the best results, depending on the skin concern.
What results should I expect from RF Microneedling treatment?
The combination of radiofrequency and microneedling means that this treatment will rejuvenate the skins surface smoothing out scars, pours and uneven skin tone but also reach deeper layers of the skin to tighten and reduce wrinkles, sagging and improve contouring. Generally improvements start to show after 2 to 3 weeks after the first microneedling treatment. The results are natural and build as skin responds to treatment, peaking at 12 weeks after the final treatment.
The results can vary from person to person, but generally, you can expect the following outcomes:
-
Skin Tightening: RF microneedling stimulates collagen & elastin production deep within the skin, leading to improved skin elasticity. This can result in firmer and tighter skin.
-
Wrinkle Reduction: The treatment can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, particularly around the eyes, mouth, and forehead.
-
Scar Improvement: RF microneedling can be effective in reducing the visibility of acne scars, surgical scars, and other types of scars.
-
Texture and Tone Enhancement: It can contribute to smoother skin texture and a more even skin tone by addressing issues like pigmentation irregularities.
-
Minimal Downtime: Compared to some other skin resurfacing procedures, RF microneedling typically has a shorter downtime, allowing you to resume your normal activities sooner.
-
Gradual Results: While some improvements may be visible shortly after the treatment, the full results usually develop over a few weeks to months as the collagen-building process continues.
It’s important to note that individual responses may vary, and multiple sessions might be recommended for optimal results. Additionally, consulting with a qualified healthcare professional or skincare specialist can provide personalized advice based on your specific skin concerns and goals.
Will there be downtime?
There is virtually no downtime. A slight swelling and redness are present immediately post-treatment and should subside quickly.
