Why Autumn Is A Good Time For Laser Hair Removal

Why Autumn is a good time for Laser Hair Removal!

Autumn is generally regarded as the end of the growing season and how good would that be if it applied to those unwanted hairs?
Ah, Autumn, the season of falling leaves, pumpkins,  and… laser hair removal? You bet!

But why? Well here are a few different reasons why Autumn is a good time to shed those hairs on your legs (or wherever you want) as the trees shed their coats too!

  • Reduced sun exposure: usually we love the sun 😎 but recently lasered legs do not! As laser hair removal treatment is best when there are no strong UV rays, it is best with less sun exposure when the skin is not sensitive and prone to damage. Laser hair removal is most effective on untanned skin, as the laser targets the contrast between the dark hair and lighter skin. By starting your treatments in Autumn, you can ensure your skin is at its optimal, untanned state, reducing the risk of adverse reactions and ensuring more effective results.
  • Sweater weather. After each laser hair removal session, it’s important to protect your treated skin from sun exposure. Autumn’s milder temperatures and shorter daylight hours make it easier to stay covered up and avoid direct sunlight, which is vital for preventing complications and maintaining the success of your treatments. a good excuse to route out the sweaters!

  • Multiple Sessions Required: Laser hair removal typically requires multiple sessions to achieve the best results. These sessions are spaced several weeks apart to target hair in various growth phases. Starting in Autumn gives you ample time to complete the necessary sessions before the next summer season arrives, ensuring you can enjoy hair-free, smooth skin when you most want to flaunt it.

  • So how does it work?
Using the virtually pain free Lynton Technology Light is absorbed by melanin (the pigment in the hair follicle). The light energy heats the pigment and effectively destroys the hair follicle without damaging the surrounding cells. The laser or IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is placed on the skin and a short pulse of light is released, which targets any follicles simultaneously. The applicator is then moved to the surrounding area of the skin and the process is repeated until the entire area is covered. For IPL treatments, a thin layer of gel is applied to the skin to help guide the light

Autumn is an excellent time for laser hair removal because it allows for optimal results, minimal sun exposure, and a comfortable recovery period. By starting your treatments now you can look forward to enjoying smooth, hair-free skin just in time for the next Spring, boosting your confidence and convenience.
